Identity

Who are you?
This is a question we each need to ask ourselves.... Who am I really? Because knowing who you are.... Your identity influences how you react/respond to situations around you. Your identity is what determines how you influence/impact those in your life and around you. People often believe that our name is our identity, as much as a name is used to identify a person or thing.... Identity also goes beyond the physical characteristic of a person or thing. Let's start by defining the term Identity.. Identity can be defined as the fact of being who or what a person or thing is(dictionary definition). While a name is a word or set of words by which a person or thing is known, addressed, or referred to(dictionary definition). Your name is a symbol for physical/external recognition. A name can either be a blessing or a curse to its bearer. A person without an *identity* is one occupying a space or position with no intent to contribute, impact or have any effect in his/her pla…

Anger; a Sure Way to Death(Hell)

Imagine...  after offending me she still had the guts to refuse my greetings. If not that am a Christian ehhhhhhh.... I would have put her in her place. Anyway...  I no dey greet again even if my life depends on it.
How many of us can relate to the above statement?
Looking at the world today,  so many things are over looked all in the quote that God understands.  Some of us go as far as quoting the Bible that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) thereby saying no man is perfect, oh... even the Bible confirms that.
Apostle Paul asked....  shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?  God forbid(Romans 6:1)!  As Christians we need to be careful how we live our lives and the excuses we give for doing what we do.  The Bible says...  let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5-11). Talking about humility.  We Christlike beings (Christians)  have to live up to our responsibility. We can't claim to be called and chosen to fulfi…

My Journey

I have been on a trip,
I thought I knew where I was headed,
I thought the direction was clear...
Each day I took one more step..
Even though the day ahead was blur,
Even though my destination wasn't clear..
I felt like the end will justify the means...
It didn't matter the route I took...
It didn't matter the foots I stepped on...
What mattered was I got to my destination...
Because no matter how I decided to travel, I was still going to get to where I was meant to be.
That was my thought...
I was blinded to the truth...
How was I to know....
I was in total darkness....
Now these words make more sense to me than ever...
"there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is destruction".
Hmmmmm.....
Destruction?
What does it really mean?
OK... Let's leave that for another day.
Today... am still on my trip,
I have taken a total new route,
A path where the light of God shines brighter and brighter...
Now my destination is clear...
Gets clearer by the …

Abraham; the Father of Many Nations

Hello lovelies...
We are discussing Abraham,  the Father of many nations.....
From the moment God gave me this assignment of finding and fulfilling purpose, the Holy Spirit has constantly showed me certain characteristics about the men and women of God who lived and fulfilled purpose and Abraham was one of the greatest of them all. We might argue that Enoch was,  because he did not see corruption but; Abraham despite all,  was called the friend of God.
Let's take a look at how the ministry of Abraham started... In the book of Genesis 6:3-7.
Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
Gen 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that…

Purposeful Life.

Hello fam.... How are y'all doing today?

I want to share this with y'all and I pray it blesses someone. Am not sure what title fits it best so I will leave you to decide.
When people say, “Everything is quiet and safe,” then suddenly destruction will hit them! It will come as suddenly as the pains that come upon a woman in labour, and people will not escape.
1 Thessalonians 5:3 GNB
I had so many thoughts running around in my mind as I went about preparing my children for school today but finally my mind settled on this thought. How aware are we of our surrounding? How aware are we of things going on in our lives? Are we aware of some of the things we are up against even when all seem well? Have we made God part of our daily lives?

When it seem like all is well, when it seem like you have all you need and have no reason to worry, when it seem like you are where you want to be in life at the exact moment you desired it, so you are on the right track, not having experienced the s…

The Life of a Mother

Looking at my time it was already 9:47pm Sunday night, I could not believe it. How could I have gone the whole day without getting even as little as an hours rest??? Gosh!!! How long can this go on?

I had woken up early hours of this morning, well not quite early. I was suppose to be in church but after been awake almost all night taking care of my baby who for some reason would not sleep through the night I found myself waking up at about 8:00am. Obviously attending Sunday service was sure cancelled and so I decided I was going to take the opportunity to rest and get some more sleep. I needed it for the week ahead. So here I am, 9:47pm, no rest, no sleep, tired and feeling completely deprived of all forms of relaxation. Now am wondering; how long can I keep up?

It's a well known fact that research has shown that everybody needs a minimum of 7-8hours sleep each night to keep and live a healthy lifestyle. So what would you say If I told you I haven't gotten as much as 4hours …

My DIY Akara.... Hups!!!

Hello everyone.... today am sharing with you the mistake I made preparing my bean cake (Akara) for breakfast on Saturday. No matter how good you are at something, there's always a downside to not doing it regularly.
I woke up very excited because I had planned all week to serve my DIY bean cake(Akara) with quaker oat for breakfast on Saturday. So I had to wash the beans to remove the skin/coat and I went ahead to grind the beans with my blender after I was done washing. While grinding I realized my bean batter wasn't blending/grinding as expected and I had to keep adding more water to keep my blender from clogging even though I knew I was not suppose to. At a point I decided to use my bean puree like that since I was not getting the smoothness I wanted. I turned my bean puree into my mortar and realize I didn't pound my onion and chili. What a disaster. I had to then grate my onion and use dry powder chili instead of the fresh habanero chili. By the time I finished mixing…

For the Love of Pancake

Flipping my pancake over, my heart melts with joy just like butter does when it's heated. Am making plans on how to get a good treat from this breakfast choice. Actually, Jayden made the choice. He's been going on and on about pancake for school in the last three weeks that I finally promised him on Friday that I would see to it that he takes pancake to school on Monday. And so here I am mixing and frying and the aroma filling up the entire apartment.... hmmmmmm! it's an incomparable experience.
I have always seen pancake as a special treat since it was an occasional treat in my home when I was growing up. So whenever it surfaced in our menu we made plans on how best to divulge every bit of it. I can still remember the process we used in preparing pancake back in school during our practical class. Then sugar and fresh lime juice were sprinkled on the pancake after frying. I wondered why but I would choose today's recipe over my school days recipe.
I filled Jayden'…

Macaroni Twist

Hello my fab readers, it's another beautiful day(wednesday) and the hustle and bustle begins yet again. My sympathy goes to those that live in cities like Lagos and port harcourt, I can't imagine what it feels like getting stock in traffic most mornings and evenings. Una dey try o.
Anyways; today's dish is for those that do not have sufficient time to prepare those wonderful and time consuming delicacies for breaskfast before rushing out for the days' work/activities. Bread&tea, omelets, noodles, oats, cereals etc have been served in most homes for breakfast because of how easy it is to prepare. I remember back in the days when I was in Lagos, most mothers fill their children's lunch box with iya basira and Co delicacies. I've always wondered if they considered the health implication of feeding their children foods from those bookers, some of them have their kiosk set up right over the gutters filled with disease causing bacteria and fungi but who am I to j…

My Simple Water Yam Porridge

Hello everyone.... so it's just 4 days to Christmas, lots of activities going on. Preparations here and there. Even the atmosphere feels different too. At this part of the world it's hot, dusty and dry but still loving it because now I can wash and not bother about how long it's gonna take for my clothes to dry....lol.
Today am sharing with you my simple water yam porridge which is called edikaekwo here in Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria. It's one of the wonderful delicacies enjoyed by the southerners. Though my version of this delicacy is a lot simpler and cheap too. With the hike in prices of goods you can prepare this meal with as little as N500.... hahahaha... N500 is that little .
I forgot to take a picture of my water yam before peeling so I got this unpeeled water yam picture online. Sorry about that. The quantity I bought from the market was like 2 out of the 3 displayed here and it cost me N200

So let's get started. Things you need to prepare your simple water ya…

Coconut Oil and Its Benefit

Hello my fab readers..... how is everyone doing? Hmmmmmm for me my entire 2nd week of February was filled with chores. From this to that and when weekend came I thought here comes the time to relax since I won't be waking up early to prepare my son for school but, I couldn't imagine how wrong I was. Simple Body Butter and Lotion

One of the things we women have in common is the desire to polish our skin. We all want to look our best and feel as good as possible and this we do by searching for the best creams, oils, body butters etc in the market. No matter how expensive or inexpensive our choice of product is, they all do share some common recipes and those recipes when used in their natural state tend to give us the best result.
The chemicals found in most of our commercial skin-care& hair products a lot of times leave us with damaged skin& hair due to the harshness of the chemicals. Just like detoxification of our body there are times when our skin and scalp/hair needs to replenish it's lost nutrients and heal itself of all the damages it's endured over time. One of the best way to help our skin heal is to feed it with natural and nutritious recipes. These are some of the recipes we will be looking into today.
