Imagine... after offending me she still had the guts to refuse my greetings. If not that am a Christian ehhhhhhh.... I would have put her in her place. Anyway... I no dey greet again even if my life depends on it.
How many of us can relate to the above statement?
Looking at the world today, so many things are over looked all in the quote that God understands. Some of us go as far as quoting the Bible that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) thereby saying no man is perfect, oh... even the Bible confirms that.
Apostle Paul asked.... shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid(Romans 6:1)! As Christians we need to be careful how we live our lives and the excuses we give for doing what we do. The Bible says... let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5-11). Talking about humility. We Christlike beings (Christians) have to live up to our responsibility. We can't claim to be called and chosen to fulfil purpose and we keep malice, bear grudges against our neighbours, resent people around us and bear bitterness in our hearts.
The Bible was clear when it said... love your neighbour as yourself(Mark 12:31). Owe no man anything except love (Roman's 13:8). We can't claim we are humble or love our neighbour when malice is found in us.
Brother/Sister, if you are claiming to be born again, spirit filled and ready to fulfil purpose and you are angry at anyone for over a day (Ephesians 4:26) then you have to rethink your stand as a Christian.
One of the sins that would take majority of self acclaimed believers to hell is anger. Why?
Anger is now treated as a normal reaction expected from all human beings when they are offended(Matthew 5:39).
What is anger? Anger is a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility. When a person does not react in anger he/she is viewed as abnormal. Anger is also accompanied by unforgiveness(Matthew 18:21-23).
To fulfil purpose we must be eternity conscious and this means:
- we can't afford to be angry at anyone for whatever reason.
- We can't afford to bear grudges, resent, keep malice or be bitter towards anyone.
- We can't afford to react in anger rather we respond in love no matter the offence.
- We must understand that there is no little or insignificant sin. The wages of sin is death(hell) Romans 6:23.
- We must always depend on God's mercy (Romans 9:16).
If you are angry at anyone, this is an opportunity to make peace. You have no idea what tomorrow holds for you so do not procrastinate. John 15:4... you can't abide in Jesus and him abide in you when your heart is clouded by anger. Our bodies being the temple of the living God must be purged for God to dwell within us.
Come to Jesus now by opening up your heart to him (Revelations 3:20). Let go of that anger and let God heal you of your pain today.
