Focus on God

Hello... Welcome to my blog, How are you doing today? So good to be sharing the word of God with you all and I look forward  to hearing from you too.

So am doing a series on the book of Exudos 32 by the grace of God. And am trusting the Holy Spirit for more understanding and direction as you come on this journey with me. In my last post I shared with us "Loyalty to God", you can see that here. Looking at the attitude of the children of Israel, how can you relate with it personally?

Today am going further into that same verse.

A lot of Christians are guilty of this same action the Israelite took. We ask God for something, and when the answer seem to delay we turn our attention else where. Jesus said... When you pray believe that what you asked for you have received and you will have whatever you have asked for.

We understand that faith is a now word and believe is an action word. When you ask for something believe now that you have it and you shall have it. The problem is we focus so much attention on the physical, failing to understand that before something can manifest in the physical it must first be received in the spirit.

Let's look at it this way.... When the seed of a man is released inside the woman, this seed can only fertilize the egg of the woman if an egg is ready for fertilization. If the woman's egg is not available(ready) for fertilization the seed of the man will die after some hours. This is how it is with us, when we pray.. Believe! Our heart has to be fertile, ready to receive. If our heart is not ready, that which God has released can not come to us.

Now when the seed of the man is able to fertilize the egg of the woman, a process begins which is not visible to the naked eye. Sometimes even the woman who's body is going through this process may not be aware until the embryo has attached itself to the wall of the uterus. It may even take longer for some women to notice what's happening. And when the woman finally realizes what's going on inside its only real to her. Others can't see what's happening until her tummy starts growing.

In the same way... When we ask God for the things we need in prayer with a heart ready to receive, our desires are released to us immediately; for the father already know that we have need of them even before we ask. Before the things we've received in the spirit can manifest in the physical we have to be nurtured. God prepares our heart to receive that which he has for us by allowing us face certain trials and temptation because; this increases your ability to endure leading to spiritual maturity.

Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.
JAMES 1:3‭-‬4 AMP

So if our desires don't start falling from the sky after we've prayed, it does not mean our prayers have not been answered or the answers are delayed. It only means God is taking us through a process and the answers to our prayers will manifest at the right time if we do not faint.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Galatians 6:9 NLT

Some of us have assumed that this season of nurturing is a sign that God has stopped hearing our prayer and we've turned our focus to other things. The Israelite were so quick to turn to Aaron and ask him to make them other gods because they were so impatient and never considered if Moses delay was for their own good.

This is a man who speaks with God and through the leading of the Spirit of God had brought them out of the land of Egypt and at the first sign of Delay they turned to a golden calf...

Ask yourself this question... Have I turned my focus away from God  at the first sign of delay?

No matter the situation we find ourselves we need to stop and consider what the lord is planning for us.

The verse we read in James 1:3 says that the testing of our faith produces patience. There are things that will not manifest on the physical until we've reached a level of spiritual maturity. Look at Solomon, because of lack of spiritual maturity his heart was turned to other gods. If he was spiritually matured he would not have taken women as wives and concubines from countries where the lord has instructed Israel not to intermarry. The kingdom was divided into 12 tribes with only one tribe left to David because of the promise God made to him, we can see this in the book of 1 Kings 11. Imagine the loss Solomon brought to the house of David due to lack of spiritual maturity.

Let's look at this parable by Jesus:

Then He told them a parable, saying, “There was a rich man whose land was very fertile and productive.  And he began thinking to himself, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place [large enough in which] to store my crops?’  Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my storehouses and build larger ones, and I will store all my grain and my goods there.  ~‘And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many good things stored up, [enough] for many years; rest and relax, eat, drink and be merry (celebrate continually).”’  But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own all the things you have prepared?’   So it is for the one who continues to store up and hoard possessions for himself, and is not rich [in his relationship] toward God.”
LUKE 12:16‭-‬21 AMP

This man lacked spiritual maturity so the only thing he could think of was how to relax and make Merry. If he had gone through all the trouble of finding ways to grow a healthy crop he won't have had those thoughts rather he will be making plans on how to ensure he grows better crops in the coming year.

Challenges should draws us closer to God by building our spiritual life. A man who focuses on making his flesh comfortable will loose his soul. God does not want to loose his children so he grooms us... The more matured we are, the more of God's blessings and abilities which have been released to us in the spirit can manifests in the physical.

In summary, we should understand that delay is not denial. Rather than turn our focus from God who is the creator of the universe, the giver of life and everything else, the one who has a plan for each of us in mind even before we were created, let's trust him and the process he's taking us through with the understanding that he is taking us from glory to glory.

But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day.
